I realised in writing this that I have never had a pair of shoes gifted to me. Not ever. Does that seem strange?

So these are the first. They are from a dear man who I have never met, am hugely unlikely to meet, but with whom I have developed a lovely email friendship through this blog.

In truth, I was concerned about accepting his offer, worried that I would feel uncomfortable receiving such a gift (perhaps a post for another time), but his genuine pleasure in it made it much fun.

I dragged all of my shoes out of the depths of my wardrobes and decided to make a shoe tower. Easier access, better ability to see what I had, a lovely choice of which to wear before I go out.

But but… after I did it, there was a messy pile of shoe boxes against the wall. It offended my sense of aesthetics, it was completely unacceptable!!

So, I ordered clear shoe boxes to put them all in, to make them pretty, you know I like the pretty.

About to head out with these steampunk-ish leather buckled boots on for the first time… Dinner with a coupled up lesbian and a gay man… That totally counts as a hot date, right?

I have had a few people asking lately “Are they your feet?”

I find that sweet and funny… It makes me wonder where they think the photos might have come from if they aren’t of me and taken by me. They cannot be mistaken for professional photos, they are, frankly, terrible shots done on a dinky little point-n-click… *chuckle*

So, yes Virginia, they ARE my feet…

Not new anymore, but still… there is no such thing as too much shiny!!

Twitter followers already know that I bought two new pairs of shoes yesterday… huzzah!!!

This is the first… a pair of summer sandals, kind of butch with the plain bold straps and ‘fuck you’ buckle, they are a soft black leather with a dark brown wedge heel to femme it up…

Today I wore them out to a late lunch with my vanilla ex who I forced into admiring them and saying how pretty they are… “forced shoe appreciation”… that’s a kink, right?
