This, that, and that other thing

This is one of those posts.

Long time readers know the ones.

Where I haven’t written for a while, where I’m not having any thoughts really worth writing about, but I still want to write something or I fear I will come back to find an age has passed and my last post was in 1952.

When I get this way I do a general update, a bit of a ‘what’s going on over here’ post of femdom randomness (not that the topic is ‘femdom’, just that I’m a female dominant, so it’s all femdom!).

Trying to jog myself out … Continue Reading

Femdom for bushfire relief: Final tally

Opera house sails

My ‘Femdom for bushfire relief‘ ran for 7 days last week.

I’ve started writing this update a couple of times, and I swear my emotions are living right on the surface right now. I don’t know why they insist on sitting there, but there they are. Everything to do with what is going on here with the bushfires makes me cry.

The bad makes me cry because it’s horrific and frightening and rage-making and awful.

The good makes me cry because it’s the best of people, of human kindness, of beauty, of hope, of community.

All of it … Continue Reading

Femdom for bushfire relief

Child in boat in Mallacoota

UPDATE 11 jAN: This fundraising campaign is now over. Thank you all so very much for your support, your donations, and for your enormous generosity. The final tally is here!

The bushfires here are not near me. I’m safe, my family and friends are safe. We’re lucky.

The closest fires were more than 50kms away from my home, and the only effects I experienced while people were losing their homes was a smoke haze that drifted to where I live.

I took that photo above on November 10th. It was only the start.

The fires here have been burning … Continue Reading

Come eavesdrop on another chat [Audio]

© Masocast by UnspeakableAxe

My third Masocast interview, ‘Ferns is back’, is live (the first interview from 2012 is here and the second from 2014 is here)!!

I had so much fun and a lot of laughs in this long chat with the lovely [unspeakable]Axe. We covered a wide and rambling set of topics related to BDSM from vanilla dating to how I should just go to New York to find a submissive :).

Random snippets:

I just wanna say ‘fuck you!’

Oh shit no. Oh can you imagine? Nooooo

I like to think it’s because I’m fabulous, but it’s really

Blooming randomness

© 'Ferns & orchids' by and of Ferns and her blooming babe

I had five social events and numerous phone calls in the week around my birthday. FIVE!

It is amazing to me that people want to spend time with me (I am a bad friend/daughter/sister etc, for the most part), and I am grateful for their perseverance, as much as I find the socialising exhausting.

I could pretend that the over-peopling is the reason I’ve kind of shut down, because I have shut down. But it’s not that. That doesn’t help of course, but it’s not the cause.

A kind of malaise has settled over me. It is soft and … Continue Reading

Aaannndd I’m back…

My new baby, so shiny!

Did you miss me?

YOU HAVE TO SAY YES!!

I’ve been without my beloved George, or any computer, for just shy of a month, and it has been Very Difficult.

I wasn’t doing anything too much different without George except I wasn’t:

  • writing
  • journalling
  • blogging or responding to comments on my blog
  • chatting with friends
  • googling anything unless I HAD to, no, really for real
  • reading blogs
  • logging my workouts / diet
  • emailing with friends
  • moderating on Fetlife unless it was super simple like
  • adding to my reading / gaming / movies lists
  • doing life and book admin stuff
  • keeping

Happenings: George & not-dating

I’m back from my overseas trip, hello all :). Ooh look, obligatory holiday snap.

My beloved laptop, George, gave his life in my service, suddenly having a heart attack while we were away. I took him to the PC hospital yesterday, and it seems there was no hope for him. So I am George-less at the moment :(. His hard disk was not damaged, plus I have backups, so I’m happy about that.

As a result, though, I’m resentfully tapping this out on my phone (I hate typing on my phone so much!).

I’m writing just a brief update, until … Continue Reading
