Erato is a newly-released erotica book: An anthology of 50 flash fiction erotica stories, including one of mine.

ERATO was one of the nine Mousai (Muses), the goddesses of music, song and dance. In the Classical era, when the Mousai were assigned specific literary and artistic spheres, Erato was named Muse of erotic poetry and mime, and represented with a lyre. Her name means “lovely” or “beloved” from the Greek word eratos.
Theoi Project

The book’s vision was created and executed by the folks at The New Smut Project. Why? In their own words:

“We started out of love and frustration. It became dispiriting to search in vain for erotic stories that reflected our own experiences; what we found instead were sexism and heteronormativity, a narrow range of romantic and sexual possibilities, warped views of the body and how it should look and feel to be attractive, and neglect or stereotyping of minority sexualities and gender identities. We decided the world could definitely do with more well-written, queer, feminist erotica.
We couldn’t find enough of the smutty writing we wanted in mainstream erotica, so we decided to publish it ourselves.”

It might sound familiar because even though my femdom niche is much smaller in scope, my experience was also that I couldn’t find content that I could relate to, or that reflected my experience, and it’s a key reason why I started this blog, why I write my books, why I do any and all of this. So hell yeah, I was interested in contributing.

You will not only find my hot femdom story, but also kinky, creative, body-positive celebrations of sensuality from characters who are cis, trans, and nonbinary explore their desires, whether gay, straight, lesbian, bi and pan, or ace. The stories range from temperature play to leather, phone sex, strap-ons, magic, and music.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Erotica is important.

It provides a way to explore ourselves, it gives us opportunities and permission to go to places we may not have visited before, it’s a way to fire up desires and interests we maybe never knew we had. And anthologies are a wonderful way to get teasers from all across the spectrum to see what lights us up.

  1. Thanks for sharing your story with us, Sharyn! I should add that there are several other femdom stories in Erato as well, in part because one of the editors (moi) is a domme :D
